FIFA announced that the “last-minute sale phase” of ticket sales had started from noon on Tuesday, 27 September 2022. During this stage, football fans can obtain tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, and this will continue until the end of the tournament on 18 December 2022.
Who Can Apply?
Local and international fans can apply for tickets during this phase. People who have already bought tickets will also be able to add more to their collection, as customers can purchase up to six tickets per match and 60 across the tournament.
The tickets will be available across all pricing categories, with Category 4 tickets (the cheapest) only reserved for Qatar-based fans. However, all fans with disabilities and limited mobility can apply for accessibility-friendly tickets, which also cost the same as Category 4 (we’ve covered pricing categories in more detail here).
Will There Always Be Tickets?
FIFA predicts that the first batch of tickets available during this stage will sell out quickly. However, the organisation encourages fans to regularly visit fifa.com/tickets as it states that new tickets will be made available through new releases and resales.
What Else Should I Know?
According to local authorities, all fans who successfully purchase match tickets should apply for a Hayya ID, a digital fan ID. To do this, visit qatar2022.qa or download the Hayya to Qatar 2022 app via Android or Apple.
FIFA also says that it will release a ticketing app around the second half of October. Fans will have to download this app as their tickets will be uploaded on it, as tickets for the general public will only be available in digital format.
