The first phase of ticket sale applications for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has started. Residents and visitors to Qatar can now apply for seats at individual matches or team-specific ones until 13:00 Qatar time on 08 February 2022. Plus, fans will also have the opportunity to apply for the Four Stadium Ticket Series, which allows them to enjoy four matches at four different stadiums.
According to FIFA, this unique offer has been made possible due to the short distances between stadiums in Qatar.
Price Ranges
Ticket prices differ according to category. There are three categories for international visitors, Categories 1 to 3, and the fourth category, Category 4, is exclusive to Qatar residents. Category 1 is the most expensive and offers commonly sought-after seats in the stadium. Depending on the match, prices in that category range from QR 800 to QR 5,850. Categories 2 and 3 are cheaper and offer other seats outside those prime areas. Prices range from QR 600 to QR 3,650 and QR 250 to QR 2,200, respectively. Category 4 is the cheapest, with tickets costing from QR 40 to QR 200. Accessible seat tickets for disabled people and people with limited mobility cost the same as Category 4.
How to Apply
Fans can apply by visiting fifa.com/tickets and following these steps:
- Click the button that reads “apply for tickets here”.
- Select whether you are applying from Qatar or abroad. This will direct you to a waiting room.
- Once you are in the waiting room, enter the special set of characters shown on the screen and click “enter”. You will either be directed to the ticket application portal to create your FIFA account, asked to wait for a link, or asked to click “enter” once more.
- Once you are at the ticket application portal, create a FIFA account to enter the ticket draw and follow the instructions. You will be asked to select a ticket type and enter your payment details. Only online payments through Visa cards are accepted. At this stage, individuals seeking accessible seats will also be asked to provide proof of eligibility.
The Selection Process
According to FIFA, applications will be selected randomly in a draw, and all will have an equal chance as long as they are sent by the deadline. Applicants are expected to receive an email from 08 March 2022, and if they win a ticket, they will also receive a payment link.
