MIA’s new exhibition, Imperial Threads: Motifs and artisans from Turkey, Iran and India, will run from 15 March to 4 November. Featuring carpets from Turkey, Iran and India, the exhibit will examine the relationships between the Ottoman, Safavid and Mughal Empires and their political and artistic influences on the creation of these artefacts.

On Friday, 10 March from 8am to 5pm, head to the Grand Hyatt Doha to cheer on your favourite team at the 2017 Qatar Dragon Boat Festival. Featuring ornately decorated, long paddle boats, dragon boat racing is believed to have originated more than 2000 years ago to celebrate the start of rice planting season.

The popular MIA Park Bazaar is now open on Fridays. From 3pm to 10pm on Fridays and 12pm to 7pm on Saturdays, you can find an array of hand-made goods, secondhand items, crafts, art and more at this annual market. The bazaar runs through the winter months until the end of April.
