The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) is now displaying the show-stopping works of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama on its grounds as part of an exhibition titled My Soul Blooms Forever. The exhibit features nine large, colourful, nature-inspired installations and sculptures, some of which have never been seen in this region.

According to Qatar Museums (QM), the showcasing of My Soul Blooms Forever marks the 10th anniversary of Qatar’s Years of Culture programme and is a legacy of the Qatar-Japan Year of Culture, which was celebrated in 2012. QM is also showing Kusama’s art as part of its Qatar Creates programme, which aims to celebrate and promote Qatar’s diverse cultural activities and highlight the work of local and international artists.

Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, dubs Kusama “one of the world’s most visionary artists” and believes that her work will delight FIFA World Cup fans. “MIA Park has been magically transformed for the people we are welcoming from around the world for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” she says.

My Soul Blooms Forever is presented with the exclusive sponsorship support of Louis Vuitton and will be available to view until 1 March 2023. To learn more about it and how you can attend, visit qm.org.qa or call MIA at 4422-4444.
