QATAR FOUNDATION has announced that it will build Green Island, Qatar’s first recycling hub, in Education City. It is expected to launch in the autumn with six recycling streams for paper, plastic, aluminium cans, electronic waste, batteries, and organic waste. It will also be constructed from used shipping containers and partially powered by solar panels. Green Island will also include other amenities, such as research labs, a gift shop, organic cafes, and a farm-to-table restaurant. qf.org

SIDRA MEDICINE is expanding its services for women and girls. It will be launching the Executive Women’s Health Program, which will offer annual multi-disciplinary health and well-being assessments and appointments for women ages 18 and up. It will also establish the Well Woman Health Center, which will cater to women in mid-life and beyond and offer support with menopause. Additionally, Sidra also announced the opening of its new maternity ward in the main hospital, which contains six luxury suites.
