The Covid-19 vaccination drive in Qatar is picking up momentum, and yesterday, a new drive-through vaccination centre in Lusail had opened. With all the noise and excitement surrounding this news, there might be a bit of confusion. So, here are some answers to questions you might be asking, based on information shared by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH).
Where Is It?
The vaccination centre is located behind the Lusail Multipurpose Hall.
Who Can Go?
Anyone who has received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine can get their second dose at the drive-through centre three weeks after the first.
Do I Need an Appointment?
No. The drive-through centre is open to eligible people from 11 am to 10 pm (the last entrance to the centre is at 9 pm), and vaccines will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
What Do I Need to Bring with Me?
Besides a “green” Ehteraz and a mask (worn), you will need to bring your Qatar ID (QID), health card, and vaccination card from your first dose.
How Does It Work?
After security checks your Ehteraz status on arrival, they will direct you to a waiting lane. Once you reach the front of that lane, you will be guided to one of the ten vaccination lanes. First, you will stop at an assessment pod where a member of the centre’s team will ask for your health card, QID, and vaccination card. They will also ask you a few assessment questions. Next, you will drive to the vaccination pod to get your vaccine. Make sure you keep your windows rolled down so that a healthcare professional can take your vaccination card and administer the jab. When that’s over, you will have to drive to an observation parking area where dedicated staff will keep an eye on you for some time in case you develop a reaction to the shot. Once that’s done, a member of the observation staff will give you your vaccination card, and then you’re free to go! All of these steps apply to anyone with you in the vehicle receiving the vaccine.
