Doha Festival City is currently hosting the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s (MOEHE) yearly “Back to School” campaign for the 2022/2023 school year, in collaboration with Mowasalat (Karwa). This event comes at the back of the shopping mall’s own back-to-school celebrations, which began last month, and will conclude on 20 August 2022.

According to MOEHE’s director of publications and communication department, Omar Al Yafei, the campaign aims to help new and returning school-age children feel prepared for the upcoming year. Because of this, it will focus on teaching children how to work with others at school and stay safe while riding the school bus. They will also have a chance to take part in a wide range of fun, as the mall has created a pavilion that hosts activities like face painting and art and contains a video gaming station. These activities will run from 3 pm to 9 pm at the Axis Node near South Food Court.

Additionally, the mall has set up two more back-to-school-themed stations. One is Festival Academy, which provides edutainment for children and adults, and is located at the Centre Court. The other is Customisation Station, which allows kids to jazz up their school supplies to their liking and can be found at the Entertainment Node.
