QAWS is a non-profit, volunteer run organisation striving to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome stray and abandoned animals in Qatar.
Formed in 2004 and based on a farm just outside of Doha, QAWS houses over 250 animals and always welcomes new volunteers, visitors and adopters. Primarily focused on rehoming dogs and cats, the shelter also houses various smaller animals such as rabbits and hamsters and livestock such as the resident cow, goat and donkeys.
QAWS believes education is the key to preventing animal abuse and abandonment and welcomes visits from companies, organisations and schools as well as participating in assemblies, presentations and talks.
More then just a rehoming facility, QAWS offers support and advice to any member of the community who has an animal related situation or problem.
